Practice Policies

The only way to become a more proficient swimmer is through practice. Attendance is crucial to your child’s personal success this summer.

★ Swimmers need to be ON TIME for stretching!

★ Swimmers should bring two towels and goggles (and a spare) to every practice.

★ Swimmers will want sweatpants and a sweatshirt, especially during the early part of the season. It gets cold!

★ Use the bathroom BEFORE coming to practice.

PRACTICE FAQ

When is it ok to talk to the Coaches about my child?

Please DO NOT talk to the Coaches during practice as they are very busy coaching all of the kids. It is best to email them directly or talk with one of the board members at practice if they are available. If you would like to approach a coach AFTER practice is over, you are free to do so as long as they are not directly supervising the children in the water or around the pool deck. They are responsible for keeping all eyes on deck as long as there are swim team children present.

Does my child need to wear the team swim suit during practice? During a meet? What brand, and where do I buy it?

No special swim suits are needed during practice, except that girls must wear a one piece swimsuit without ruffles or decorations. Boys should practice in "jammer" style shorts. Team suits during meets are required. Swimmers who do not wish to purchase a new suit are welcome to wear a solid black suit. Swim suits can be purchased at Augusta Swim Supply on Boy Scout Road in Augusta.

Swimmers should arrive changed and ready to swim.
